If you’re looking for a fun and tasty way to add more vegetables into your toddler’s (or family’s) diet, these broccoli cheese waffles are it! Made with fresh broccoli, cheddar cheese, eggs, and wholemeal self-raising flour, they’re a protein- and calcium-rich option that keeps little tummies full and happy.

The savoury flavour of cheese with a hint of garlic powder makes these waffles super kid-friendly plus, they only need a few basic ingredients and minimal prep. Cooking them in a mini waffle iron also means less mess and faster clean-up, which is perfect for busy parents!

  • Egg: Helps bind everything together and gives the waffles structure.

How to Make Broccoli Waffles

Mix ingredients: In a bowl, combine the cheese, cooked chopped broccoli, eggs, flour, and garlic powder. Stir until everything's well mixed.

Preheat the waffle maker: Turn it on and let it heat up according to the instructions.

Grease the plates: Lightly spray or brush with oil to stop sticking.

Add the mixture: Spoon about 2 tablespoons into the waffle maker and spread it out gently.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons wholemeal self-raising flour
  • ½ cup (40g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese, chopped cooked broccoli, eggs, flour, and garlic powder. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Preheat your mini waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. Lightly grease the waffle iron with oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
